Greenhouse Gas Emissions of Organic and Conventional Foodstuffs in Austria
The consumerÂŽs choice in quality of foodstuffs can influence GHG-emissions from the food sector. Organic agriculture is discussed as a possible way to reduce GHG-emissions. However the amount of reducing CO2eq per kg of organic products is unclear especially under supermarket conditions. The primary goal of the present study was to compare greenhouse gas emissions (CO2-eq) of organic foodstuffs with conventionally grown ones. All balanced foodstuffs are retail products, processed and marketed by nationwide supermarket companies in Austria
CpâMn(CO)(NO) vorgestellt.
Aus 1a,b lassen sich mit Ph2PH die Monomanganiophosphonium-Salze
[{Cp'Mn(CO)(NO)}PPh2H] +X- (X = BF4
-, PF6
-) (2a,b) darstellen.
CpMn(CO)NO ist in Schema 1 wiedergegeben.
"Wurtz-Reaktion" gebildete Tetraphenyldistiban koordiniert einfach einzÀhnig an
das metallorganische Komplexfragment in trans-Position zum Phosphanliganden;
Hauptprodukt fiel stets Ph2AsBr an.
Produkt 18 liefert
Segmentation-guided Domain Adaptation for Efficient Depth Completion
Complete depth information and efficient estimators have become vital
ingredients in scene understanding for automated driving tasks. A major problem
for LiDAR-based depth completion is the inefficient utilization of convolutions
due to the lack of coherent information as provided by the sparse nature of
uncorrelated LiDAR point clouds, which often leads to complex and
resource-demanding networks. The problem is reinforced by the expensive
aquisition of depth data for supervised training. In this work, we propose an
efficient depth completion model based on a vgg05-like CNN architecture and
propose a semi-supervised domain adaptation approach to transfer knowledge from
synthetic to real world data to improve data-efficiency and reduce the need for
a large database. In order to boost spatial coherence, we guide the learning
process using segmentations as additional source of information. The efficiency
and accuracy of our approach is evaluated on the KITTI dataset. Our approach
improves on previous efficient and low parameter state of the art approaches
while having a noticeably lower computational footprint
Tax reform, Behavioral effects, Distribution and fiscal effects
Coadministration of tizanidine and ciprofloxacin: a retrospective analysis of the WHO pharmacovigilance database
Purpose: Tizanidine, an alpha-adrenergic substance with antinociceptive and antihypertensive effects, is extensively metabolized via cytochrome P450 (CYP) 1A2. Therefore, coadministration with potent CYP1A2 inhibitors, such as ciprofloxacin, is contraindicated. However, both drugs are broadly utilized in various countries. Their concomitant use bears an inherent high risk for clinically significant symptoms, especially in multimorbid patients experiencing polypharmacy. This study aims to investigate the impact of coadministration of tizanidine and ciprofloxacin using real-world pharmacovigilance data and to raise awareness of this potentially underestimated safety issue.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective study including Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSR) registered until March 1, 2017, in the World Health Organization (WHO) global database. Demographic data, drug administration information, the course of the adverse drug reaction (ADR), its severity, and outcomes were analyzed for cases reporting ciprofloxacin comedication.
Results: In 91 (2.0%) of the identified 4192 worldwide ICSR on tizanidine, coadministration of ciprofloxacin was reported. Most of the patients were female (n = 59, 64.8%) with a median age of 54 years (range 13-85 years). The countries contributing most reports were the USA (n = 54, 59.3%) and Switzerland (n = 16, 17.6%). ADRs reported most often affected the nervous system and the cardiac function, especially with large tizanidine doses or drugs with CNS and cardiovascular depressant effects. In two cases, a fatal outcome was reported.
Conclusion: Despite the existing formal contraindication, the concomitant use of tizanidine and ciprofloxacin can be observed in real-world clinical practice. Reactions mainly affected the central nervous and the cardiovascular system resulting in potentially severe adverse effects. The concomitant use of tizanidine and ciprofloxacin should absolutely be avoided.

Crystal structures of Thermotoga maritima reverse gyrase: inferences for the mechanism of positive DNA supercoiling
Reverse gyrase is an ATP-dependent topoisomerase that is unique to hyperthermophilic archaea and eubacteria. The only reverse gyrase structure determined to date has revealed the arrangement of the N-terminal helicase domain and the C-terminal topoisomerase domain that intimately cooperate to generate the unique function of positive DNA supercoiling. Although the structure has elicited hypotheses as to how supercoiling may be achieved, it lacks structural elements important for supercoiling and the molecular mechanism of positive supercoiling is still not clear. We present five structures of authentic Thermotoga maritima reverse gyrase that reveal a first view of two interacting zinc fingers that are crucial for positive DNA supercoiling. The so-called latch domain, which connects the helicase and the topoisomerase domains is required for their functional cooperation and presents a novel fold. Structural comparison defines mobile regions in parts of the helicase domain, including a helical insert and the latch that are likely important for DNA binding during catalysis. We show that the latch, the helical insert and the zinc fingers contribute to the binding of DNA to reverse gyrase and are uniquely placed within the reverse gyrase structure to bind and guide DNA during strand passage. A possible mechanism for positive supercoiling by reverse gyrases is presente
